Long View Gallery
Founded in 1975, Taipei Lung Men Art Gallery dedicated itself in promoting modern & contemporary Chinese art presenting remarkable art works by oversea Chinese artists such as Yun Gee (1906-1963), Lee Chun-Shan (1912-1984), ZAO Wou-ki (1921-2013), CHU Teh-Chun (1920-2014), and Walasse TING (1928-2010). By the 1990s, these early masters’ works would eventually emerge in the international Post-War art scene and shape the foundation of 20th Century Chinese Art.
In the early 1990s, gallery president, Lily Lee, aimed to evolve Lung Men Art Gallery into an international operation and entered the international art markets of New York, Chicago, London, Paris, and Tokyo, and established long-term business relationships with the most reputable international dealers and gallerists. During that time, Lily Lee was living and traveling between New York and Taiwan while her son, Jeffrey Lee, completed his elementary and high school education in New York City.
Lily Lee was elected Chairman of Taiwan Art Galleries Association in 1995 and became the principal organizer of the inaugural Taipei Art Fair International R.O.C., where she introduced a new international perspective to Taiwan’s growing and maturing art market, and brought Taiwan to the international art market in its golden era. Moreover, the growth of Lung Men Art Gallery had reached a fruitful maturation period, representing and exhibiting contemporary artists.
