Galleria Continua was founded in 1990 by Mario Cristiani, Lorenzo Fiaschi and Maurizio Rigillo, with the intention, underlined by gallery’s name, to give continuity to contemporary art in a landscape rich with the signs of ancient art - San Gimignano. Occupying a former cinema, Galleria Continua established itself and steeped in history, timeless and magnificent. This choice of location has provided scope for the development of new forms of dialogue and symbiosis between unexpected geographies: local and global, art from past and the art of today, famous and emerging artists. In 2004 Galleria Continua has opened two other spaces: in Beijing (China) and Les Moulins in the Parisian countryside. The gallery has been showing contemporary Western artists in an area where they are still little seen. Galleria Continua is famous for their large-scale creations and soon the gallery has opened one more space in La Habana (Cuba), devoted to cultural projects designed to overcome every frontier.
