Since its creation in 2014, Slika advocates for an uninhibited representation of current art, ignoring the labels and pre-established codes. It nourishes, hand in hand with its artists confirmed as promising young people, the desire to awaken our curiosity and broaden our vision of the world of today and tomorrow.
The bias of Jérémie Masurel and Félix Baezner wishes above all to let the artists experiment, to bring together the mediums, techniques and supports, while leaving the original cultures to each, most often urban, alternative or even marginal, opportunity to assert oneself in a formal plastic practice and yet more than ever contemporary.
Living to the rhythm of personal and collective exhibitions, but also of artist residencies and in-situ projects, Slika moves into a real place of possibilities and interactions, seeking the involvement of all, artists and collectors, both the public and art professionals. From rue Auguste Comte in Lyon, Slika places the need and the desire to focus on art and art only, under its most confusing and eclectic prisms, at the heart of its commitments.
