The Alfonso Artiaco gallery was created in 1986 in Pozzuoli, Naples, and inaugurated its spaces with the group exhibition titled “Possibilità di Collezione”.
In 9 years the gallery moved in Via Mameli, with an exhibition by Carl Andre and Sol LeWitt, until 1997 when it returned to Corso Nicola Terracciano, the first place, with Jannis Kounellis’ show. Later in 2003 the gallery has changed it’s location again, to Piazza dei Martiri in Naples, and inaugurated the new venue with the exhibition by Gerhard Merz and his project “Fragments Napoli 2003”.
In 2010 a project space was launched with the show of Magnus Plessen. In November 2012 the gallery has moved one more time and now Alfonso Artiaco is located in Piazzetta Nilo. The recent location was inaugurated with Liam Gilick exhibition and a tribute to Sol LeWitt.
