Untitled Art, San Francisco
The gallery will be featuring work by Stephen De Staebler, Terry St. John, and Frank Lobdell, three pivotal twentieth-century Bay Area artists who have made significant contributions to the advancement of modern art and their respective mediums. The artists are united by their unique and striking engagement with the human form. Through his bronze and clay sculptures, De Staebler forged a new understanding of the body—one stripped down to its rawest elements, connected as much to the spiritual realm as to the earthly. St. John and Lobdell, on the other hand, are known for their experiments with light, shadow, and graphic elements, testing the limits and possibilities for articulating form—especially the sensual curves of the body.
