THE BARN SHOW 2019
Featuring the works of over 30 artists, the “Barn Show” is a celebration of contemporary art in the summer of 2019. The show brings together artists that bridge mediums, generations, and geographies. From figurative and abstract painting to radical sculptures, the show builds upon the history of the East End as a site of artistic creation while grappling with the spirit of our times. Featuring rising stars such as Gina Beavers and Derrick Adams as well as gallery favorites such as Dannielle Tegeder and Umar Rashid (Frohawk Two Feathers) and new finds such as works from the estate of Haitian artist Paul Gardere, newcomers like Brittney Leeanne Williams, Australian painter Madeleine Pfull, New York darling Coady Brown and recent Yale graduate Dominic Chambers, “The Barn Show” offers a survey of contemporary art in the here and now. The show builds upon the history of its predecessors by embracing the quirky and fun nature of the exhibition space that embodies the opposite of the white cube gallery space.
