Chisenhale Gallery presents a major new commission and the first solo exhibition in a UK institution by Luke Willis Thompson. Thompson presents a new body of work, developed during his 18-month Chisenhale Gallery Create Residency (2016-17), which is produced in partnership with Create. Building on research into the social and cultural politics that lead to radical moments of civil unrest, Thompson reflects on the production and distribution of images in the wake of traumatic events. Luke Willis Thompson (b. 1988 Auckland) lives and works in London. Selected solo exhibitions include Sucu Mate/Born Dead, Hopkinson Mossman, Auckland (2016): and Misadventure, IMA, Brisbane (2016).
