“The focus of Ivana Klickovic's work is on the process of selecting and sampling culturally and chronologically distant visual patterns - such as Japanese woodcuts, drawings of old theater sets or digital images from the Internet. She arranges them on canvas almost simultaneously, like overlapping layers of reduced image fragments. This creates large-scale compositions, spatially flat and open to interpretation, both abstract and quasi-objective. Klickovic confirms the breath porality as one of the main features of her painterly gesture and indirectly comments on the multidirectional, continuous and often chaotic circulation of images in our daily life in which everything has already been seen and interwoven, regardless of isolated cultural patterns and social phenomena. Klickovic reacts to a global distribution of images and at the same time participates in this economy, in which the distribution of visual information is organized, and examines the logic of overlap, mixing, flexibility, conflict and simultaneity of visual motifs and styles in their very own painting structure. ”
