INCANDESCENT TRAVELER

INCANDESCENT TRAVELER

Recently standing in Central Park, I realized that much of my practice aligns with the sky. A celestial appearance results from relying heavily on feelings to paint. Intuition offers chance a silent but clear voice.

Often my paintings are hybrid acts of intentional adoration and intuitive thought. My internal hope, the selfish reason I paint, is to stay in contact with the animals and people who I love. My external motive is to offer a springboard for the viewer to explore.

The same characters are used regularly. The figure of a doll, my dog “Bird”, portrait hairdos, “Blackjaw” the alligator voyage across each picture plane. Their individual appearances morph through variations of form and color.

Presented now at TURN Gallery are portraits of my favorite Incandescent Travelers.
