Rémy Zaugg (1943-2005) is known for his text images, which engage the viewer in a complex discussion on perception, visual representation as well the relevance of modernistic abstract painting. Galerie Nordenhake presents Rémy Zaugg's comprehensive work "I, myself." (2002/03), a series of eighteen paintings in various sizes made with spray lacquer and silk screen on aluminium. Different white texts cover the works light-grey backgrounds. Their smooth surfaces show no trace of a human touch nor the history of their making and accentuate the relationship between colour and text.
