Galleria Ramo is delighted to present, Formato A, an exhibition that brings together three emerging international female artists. They are bonded by their research of human nature and its various manifestations. Their studies span various obsessions of the mind, highlighting the fragility of thought and manifesting itself with the use of paper. For centuries, art history defined works on paper as “a minor form of art“ or a “manual activity“ but it has now become central to contemporary artistic research.
6Throughout their work, Sally Viganò, Vichi Lonati, and Vanessa Orelli redefine the material by elevating it beyond its “status” as a surface, giving it a central role in the interpretation of the individual and of the world around us. The three artists research by obsessive repetition, inspired by line and sign, which are then decontextualized and reproduced through three different interpretations. From mind to paper: where word and paper accompany a "rational balance that becomes an obsession". From two-dimensional to threedimensional: the word written as a sign-graphic system that creates an almost sculptural form (braille). "From the nature understood in its manifestation of micro and macrocosm" to the minimal expression: the total absence of the word where paper and wire reveal the fragility of thought.“
