DESERTO-MODELO

DESERTO-MODELO

The first monograph on Lucas Arruda explores, across a selection of the artist's most beautiful works, his pursuit of light in his sky, sea and jungle paintings. With texts by Fernanda Brenner (curator and director of Pivô, an independent art center in São Paolo) and Chris Sharp (curator and independent writer based in Mexico), as well as an introduction by CAHIERS D’ART publisher Staffan Ahrenberg and excerpts from a conversation between Lucas Arruda and Hans Ulrich Obrist.

The exhibition Deserto-Modelo features paintings from private collections and prints edited by CAHIERS D’ART. The prints, produced during summer 2018 during Lucas Arruda’s stay in Paris at the shop of the renowned American printer Michael Woolworth, allowed the artist to pursue his study of different printing techniques such as lithography and etching.
