CONCOCTION OF CONFUSION
Today the open deconstruction by the centenial generation goes beyond sexual identity and heteronormative standards. It is making the structures of world politics, religion, science and culture tremble, so it seems that the tendency of trying to give definition to everybody and everything around us is worthless. Let ́s don’t be scared of being confused, because we are just a concoction of confusion.
Concoction of Confusion is an exhibition curated by Inti Wang (2000). Inti has grown up in between Norway and Colombia, and the show is the result of his encounters and experiences with different cultures, feelings, artists and realities along his life so far. Concoction of Confusion displays a selection of works by Norwegian and Colombian artists that all relate to the idea of confusion or the undefined. Supported by paintings, photography, installations and sculptures, among other expressions, the exhibited artworks create a universe of undefined forms and matter.
As an integral part of the show Wang has also created some garments, showcasing pieces that are not defined, or not in the same form, as we are used to see them. From hybrids of skirt-pants to tang-tube tops they all share the same nature and are not defined as one or the other.
