Romero's realism seeks the magic and mystery surrounding everyday reality, which, through his gaze, acquires a certain metaphysical character.
His painting is born from the emotion and admiration that produce fruits, flowers, landscapes or figures that, located in certain atmospheres, reveal its nature and display all its beauty. They are often objects that he arranges on the table so that they establish a very specific spatial relationship between them, and which then illuminates without any desire for theatricality. It is a slow and thoughtful process, which sometimes lasts for days, in which the artist weaves a plastic, poetic, and even philosophical relationship with what he will paint. He says that the really difficult thing is this process of deepening the internal life of objects to capture all their nuances.
Alberto Romero is considered, for his pictorial and intellectual evolution, as one of the strongest emerging values of Catalan realism. He is a teacher and a great connoisseur of the great masters of painting, and has expanded his training in the Chair of Antonio López García. He has been selected and awarded in numerous competitions and scholarships throughout Spain, and regularly exhibits in Barcelona, Madrid and other European cities.
