Capturing the expanse of the universe in his compellingly profound paintings, Italian master Natale Addamiano uses his work as an exploration of both the larger realms of space but also of the profundity of the human soul.
Using rich colors, Addamiano conjures deep, atmospheric works that create a space that the viewer of his work can explore with unfettered abandon. Part of this power comes from Addamiano’s penchant for plein air painting, which has allowed him to probe the depths of the natural world and the remarkable palette of colors that come together within it.
Born in Bitetto, Italy, in 1943, Addamiano graduated from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in 1972. Since then, he has enjoyed ample opportunity to showcase his work in numerous locales. Recent exhibitions include those at the Tokyo Art Fair (2017); Sala dei Templari in Molfetta (2018); and Chiostro del Bramante in Rome (2018), which served as the artist’s first solo exhibition in the Italian capital city.
