Exploring the power of Minimalist expression through an artistic perspective akin to a blueprint for an entirely new mode of expression, Danish artist Leif Kath uses streamlined motifs and subtle pops of color to create an alluring abstract realm.
The focus on the non-figurative in Kath’s work allows his neat geometries and repeated patterns to resonate throughout his body of work with a renewed energy. It is within this rhythmic repertoire that Kath reveals the true investigations of his art that revolve around the specific and mysterious elements of the modern world.
Born in Haderslev, Denmark, in 1945, Kath first debuted his work in the Charlottenborg Spring Salon of 1969. A veritable retrospective of his career debuted at the Brundlund Museum of Art in 2010. Beyond this opportunity, Kath has been an active exhibitor of his work, with past showcases of his art occurring in prestigious locations such as the Biennial of Graphic Arts in Vienna; Milan Premio del Disegno; and the Triennial of Graphic Art in Tallinn.
