Treating his work as a means to investigate the history of the object, Danish artist Jay Gard emphasizes the process of each of his work’s construction as a means of assessing the very language of art and design.
Taking cues from architecture as well as diverse fields of design, Gard channels these energies into his novel creations that break down the barriers between reality and fantasy.
Born in Denmark in 1984, Gard has enjoyed the exhibition of his work in a variety of locales. Recent showcases include “Zeichen unter Zeichen” at SEXAUER Gallery in Berlin (2017); “Melting Point” at Kunst & Denker Contemporary in Düsseldorf (2018); and “Habitat” at JGM Gallery in London (2019).
