Never one to shy away from the grotesque, Frederick Næblerød’s works are expressive to the point of revulsion. Næblerød works in multiple mediums such as oil and acrylics, glue, plaster, drawings, sculptures, and site specific installations to create his social and political references to society and current events. Occasionally self-referential he has been known to create pieces that are inherently self-critical such as his objects covered in gold as a reflection of society’s addiction to sex and desire.
Born in 1988 in Denmark, Frederik Næblerød graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts’ School of Visual Arts in 2018. He lives and works in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Næblerød has enjoyed exhibitions at home in Denmark, as well as abroad in festivals including Miami’s NADA Art Fair. He has held solo exhibitions in cities including Copenhagen, Sicily, Luzerne, London, and Barcelona. Næblerød was recently hailed as one of “Three Artists to Watch in 2018”.
