David Rosado is a mixed-media artist who uses a wide range of materials in order to express his ideas. He tries to use all materials without any restrictions or rules – whether it’s something he’s picked up off his studio floor or which makes most sense in the work he’s doing at the time.
The artist draws inspiration from the current overload of information between people and spaces. He believes physical spaces that people fill in society widen the gap of communication between people, creating blocks in social interactions. These topics can all be found in Rosado’s cynical, humorous works referencing anything from contemporary politics to consumer culture.
Born in 1976 in Évora, Portugal, Rosado currently lives and works in Lisbon. He has in museum exhibitions at the Contemporary Art Museum of Malaga and the National Fine Arts Society of Lisbon, as well as in galleries in New York, Lisbon and Milan, among others. Recently, Rosado’s works were shown in the exhibition Just Like Giants at MPV Gallery in ‘S-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands (2018).
