1988 · Italy
Starting with a photograph and ending in a painting Andrea Carpita’s multimedia work walks the fine line between figuration and abstraction. Inspired by the works of countless artists including Henri Matisse, Ed Rusha, David Hockney, Sigmar Polke, and Laura Owens, among numerous others he is driven by an intense search for design and form that resonates personally. Preferring the intimacy of small formats, he works with drawing on paper in addition to his larger paintings that are borne out of a digitally developed photograph.
Born in Italy in 1988, Andrea Carpita has enjoyed solo and group exhibitions throughout his home country. Additionally, he takes part in art fairs and festivals such as the Art First, Art Fair in Bologna.
