Investigating themes of spirituality, sexuality, and womanhood through the mediums of print, fabric, drawing, and embroidery, Alexi Marshall’s work conveys temporality. Utilising mediums that are typically and historically attributed to “women’s work” she manifests female characters that boldly proclaim their humanhood through their sexuality and radiation of radical softness. Marshall’s pieces are full of morality iconography, populated by saints and sinners such as Samson and Delilah.
Born in 1995 in London, England, Marshall received a foundation diploma in art & design from Sussex Coast College in 2013. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the Slade School of Art in 2018. She now lives and works in London.
Alexi Marshall’s work has been exhibited throughout London and Moscow in group shows. She was part of Bloomberg New Contemporaries in 2018 and has participated in numerous art fairs. Marshall has been the recipient of the Antony Dawson Award and the Boise Travel Scholarship, and her work can be found in the collection of the Allbright Club in London.
