Exploring the elements of daily life with an air of the absurd, Irish artist Alan Magee has perfected the art of the social commentary. Working across media to pull forth a variety of elements that range from the relatable to the remarkable, Magee’s work speaks to a larger consideration for the symbols and signs that guide our modern world.
Born in Ireland in 1980, Magee earned his BA from technological University Dublin and subsequently achieved an MA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design in London. He has been lauded with numerous awards, including the Fire Station Artists’ Studios -Sculpture Bursary Award, and the Arts Council Ireland Travel and Training Award.
