Slag Gallery was founded in 2008, Chelsea, NY by Irina Protopopescu. The gallery actively exhibits, represents and upholds a diverse group of national and international, emerging artists embracing diverse practices. With a dynamic exhibition schedule, the gallery is characterized by its commitment to support and sustainably nourish the careers of the artists in its roster. Furthermore, the gallery's efforts concentrate on local and international exposure of works by its artists providing cultural exchange with art institutions and organizations, publishing catalogs, and collaborating with other galleries. Artists represented have exhibited extensively in museums and galleries worldwide and were included in exhibitions such as Venice Biennale, Istanbul Biennale, and Prague Biennial.
