Ravnikar Gallery Space
Located in the heart of the city, RAVNIKAR GALLERY SPACE first opened its doors in November 2017 on Prešernova 10a, a cultural niche in a lively residential area. R — s p a c e features the works of both emerging and established artists from the region, with the aim to acquaint the wider community with original visual art.
R — s p a c e was founded by Piera Ravnikar. Highly regarded for her active contribution to the national and international contemporary and urban arts scene of the past 15 years, Piera has collaborated with many artists and collectives working in the area of visual arts and culture. Piera is proud to be part of Kino Šiška’s pioneer team, and has worked at the Centre for Urban Culture as an Artistic Programme Manager for almost 10 years. With the support Kino Šiška’s dynamic team, Piera revitalised the regional arts through exciting projects and ideas. She also initiated many new concepts – like the DobraVaga gallery, which quickly became one of Ljubljana’s most esteemed spaces for young contemporary art and dialogue. She now runs her own private initiative RAVNIKAR GALLERY SPACE, and is also active in other projects such as MENT Ljubljana, artist-in-residence SKALINADA, Independent Biennale and actively mentors emerging artists and curators from the region. Piera holds an MA in Modern History from the University of London and EU Diploma in Cultural Management Marcel Hicter, Brussels.
