Primo Marella Gallery founded in 1992 has gone through a big expansion over the years. In December 2004 the gallery opened a new venue in Beijing inside 798 Art Factory Area, which was followed by the opening of another venue in Milan in 2007, designed by the famous architect Claudio Silvestrin.
Since the beginning Primo Marella Gallery have been committed to the promotion and documentation or emerging artists and different movements coming from different areas outside Europe. The gallery has always organised shows, published books and catalogues and collaborated with local curators and critics.
After its experience in China in the late 90s, the focus of the gallery’s program was on different fast growing areas, from Russia to India and from South East Asia to Africa, always with the precise goal to pioneer in the presentation of such evolving artistic scenes and to gain visibility among museums, institutions and collectors.
