Established in September 2017, P21 is located in the heart of Seoul, Itaewon district. The gallery is dedicated to contemporary art created in present day by international artists working in diverse media. Following the inaugural exhibition by Choi Jeong Hwa, one of the foremost figures in Korean contemporary art, P21 continues to promote artists at all career levels from emerging, mid-career to established. Its unique space comprised of two separate storefront cubes—P1 and P2—encourages artists to conceive and realize new ideas to result in site-specific presentations. With an international outlook, the gallery endeavors to provide a greater platform for its artists through a close collaboration with institutions and by participating in selected international art fairs.
