o v project, conceived by Olivier Vrankenne, is a small gem located on a quiet-side street in Brussels, in the elegant neighbourhood of Ixelles. Unlike many other galleries in the area, o v project creates “projects in a room” instead of exhibitions. With a gallery space uniquely designed by Brussels-based architecture firm Lhoas and Lhoas, o v project is designed with flexibility at the heart of its thinking. This approach is reflected in the gallery space, which is sorted into three spaces, two rooms for exhibiting and an office space at rear, with hors les murs projects on the way. Formerly the head of Contemporary Art in Europe for Phillips, and also the director of the program of the de Pury Luxembourg Gallery in Zurich, Vrankenne is the ideal person for creating projects which elicit a spirit of discovery by showing the “previously unseen connections” between works.
