Founded in 1989, Mayoral is located in downtown Barcelona. Mayoral focuses its energies in exhibiting exceptional postwar, informalism, and modern art created by Spanish and Catalan artists. Additionally, Mayoral has been known to exhibit the work of influential twentieth-century avant-garde artists such as Miró, Picasso, and Dalí. The gallery enjoys great success and has recently celebrated its 30th birthday in the form of numerous special events, publications, and a full-day conference.
Priding itself on developing rigorously curated projects, the gallery’s exhibitions are formed on the basis of research and documentation. The gallery is supported by the generosity of artists’ families, foundations, collectors, public and private museums, and other cultural institutions that aim to preserve and publicise the legacy of such artists. The gallery participates in art fairs globally.
