Gallery Baton has steadily established itself as one of the most influential contemporary art galleries in Korea. Founded in 2011, the gallery strives to promote diversity by highlighting established artists and introducing emerging artists onto the world stage. Its refined aesthetics and curatorial program create outstanding exhibitions that reflect noteworthy trends in contemporary art. Over the years, Gallery Baton has supported the careers of its represented artists by placing their artworks in prestigious collections including The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA), Seoul; Seoul Museum of Art (SeMA), Seoul; Leeum, Samsung Museum of Art, Seoul and Amore Pacific Museum of Art, Seoul. Gallery Baton has participated in numerous international art fairs including Art Basel Hong Kong, Frieze London, and Art Brussels.
Alongside its main exhibition program, Gallery Baton runs three alternative spaces dedicated to supporting emerging and under-represented artists. As not-for-profit programs, Chapter II and Chapter II Seongsu, provide studio spaces, curatorial support and exhibition opportunities while the Observation Deck serves as a venue for video-based and new media works.
