Galleria Pack was founded in 2001 with the aim of offering the public an ambitious program focused on the production of both emerging and more established artists.
The works exhibited over the years reveal a legible orientation in the history of the Gallery: on the one hand, interest in the body in its various representations and manifestations; on the other, the physical experience of large installations involving the viewer in different sensory realities. On the other, again, a particular attention for new media, ranging from the creation generated by new technologies to the complex structure of video installations.
Gallery Pack considers essential the productive aspect of what is shown, carrying out, together with the artists, ambitious multiform projects, installations, video works and performances. Finally, the collaboration with Italian and foreign curators satisfies a desire to place the Gallery's activity in the flow of inter-cultural and multi-disciplinary exchanges, activating a critical component that finds inspiration and continuation in a series of publications.
In 2009, Galleria Pack boasts the participation of three of its artists in the 53rd edition of the Venice Biennale: Matteo Basilè and the Masbedo were invited to exhibit at the Italian Pavilion, curated by Luca Beatrice and Beatrice Buscaroli, while Andrei Molodkin, has exhibited in the Russian Pavilion curated by Olga Sviblova.
In 2005, Galleria Pack created My Rome: the choral performance of the artist Zhang Huan at the Capitoline Museums in Rome; the work of the Chinese artist Family Tree was acquired by the permanent collection of the Center Pompidou in Paris. Galleria Pack is present in numerous national contemporary art fairs, such as Arte Fiera Bologna and Miart and international fairs such as Scope Basel, Art Miami (Miami beach), Berliner Liste (Berlin), Art Moscow (Moscow), Beirut Art Fair (Beirut), Crossroads (London).
