Galleria Il Ponte
The Galleria Il Ponte was born in San Giovanni Valdarno in 1965 for the passion towards contemporary art of Vincenzo Alibrandi, an artisan of intaglio printing. Since 1977 it is located in the current Florentine headquarters, today directed by Andrea Alibrandi.
During more than thirty years of activity, the Galleria Il Ponte has presented a group of artists of the 20th century, from historic masters as De Pisis, Sironi, Soffici, Rosai, to the main representatives of the informal as Afro and Mirko Basaldella, Arturo Carmassi, Pietro Consagra and others less known to the general public.
The gallery has always done a careful editorial work too, with the publication of catalogs and art books, very accurate both in the editing and in the graphics. The renovation of the space, carried out in 2003, was linked to the intention to move the activity of the gallery to proposals more related to the contemporary.
