Davidson Gallery was founded in 1968 in New York City and has since established itself as a gallery with professional integrity and a commitment to the artists it represents. A diverse array of emerging and mid-career contemporary artists working across multiple media have helped define Davidson Gallery for over 50 years and have been included in public and private collections around the world. Started by Maxwell Davidson III, Davidson Gallery is now a second generation family business with over 100 years of combined experience in the art business. Along with its continuous dedication to contemporary artists, Davidson Gallery also specializes in Post-war and Modern art and has had exhibitions for world-renowed artists including Alexander Calder, Carlos Cruz-Diez, Henry Moore, George Rickey, Mary Ann Unger, Victor Vasarely, Tom Wesselmann, and Purvis Young, among many others.
Located in a bi-level gallery in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York, Davidson Gallery features two outdoor sculpture decks that allow for wholly unique exhibitions and set it apart from the hundreds of gallery spaces around nearby. With its widely varied expertise, Davidson Gallery also provides client services including institutional lending and purchasing, de-accessioning and consignment, and collection building and advising.
