Charles Riva Collection
The Charles Riva Collection is a private contemporary art collection located in a wonderful 19th-century manor house in the Louise district of Brussels. French-Italian Charles Riva began collecting contemporary art in the late nineties. With the collection growing ever larger, it became clear that a space was needed to exhibit it and share it with the public. The Collection puts on two exhibitions a year, each of which run for six months. The collection has featured artists such as Mike Kelley, Paul McCarthy, George Condo, Sterling Ruby, Robert Mapplethorpe, Steven Shearer, Josh Smith, Frank Stella, Christopher Wool and Sherrie Levine.
Charles Riva, who has lived in New York City since the age of twenty, continues to be fascinated by American artists and currently lives between Brussels and New York. Riva is dedicated to bringing major works and artists to Europe from the other side of the Atlantic.
