Modell-Naturen in der zeitgenössischen Fotografie
What is real and what is false? Which truth do we think we can recognize? Or is it all just an illusion? These questions, which have accompanied photography since its beginnings and are more pronounced than ever in today's media culture, are the focus of this exhibition. The focus is on the theme of "nature" and its imitation. The imitation of a natural form involves other difficulties than the reproduction of a man-made, already artificial form. As true masters of illusion, the artists* create miniatures of fantasy places, sea, snow and mountain landscapes, urban spaces or forces of nature. The model-like aspect increasingly disappears in the medium of photography, and not infrequently the impression of a deceptively genuine representation of nature is created.
