Gilda Contemporary Art presents a personal exhibition of Francesco Garbelli curated by Cristina Gilda Artese and Alessandro Trabucco.
The title: "Despite everything, a love story" is a selection of works by the artist, considered a so-called Urban Art.
As the title suggests, the exhibition evokes love: it is the feeling of the artist towards nature, understood as a manifestation of unsurpassed and perfect beauty, but also love towards the art and some artists in particular, as a demonstration of pure human creativity, an expression of total and unconditional freedom.
The exhibition is not an anthology of the artist, but intends to examine some issues that have characterized his research, technically and linguistically eclectic and original. On one hand there's a focus on environmental issues, which are discussed a lot today, it's actually a topic constantly developed over the years by Garbelli already in the mid-nineties; on the other hand there's the implementation of some tributes to artists so close to him and chosen almost as mentors - Gustave Courbet, Alighiero Boetti, Marcel Duchamp, Jackson Pollock -, that reveals a true love for art and for its ability to place the individuality at the center of vital issues.
The monograph will be previewed on Friday 11th of October at 17.30 during the Milan Gallery Weekend 2019.
