Sirkka-Liisa Lonka (b. 1943) has had a long and internationally successful career as a visual artist. At the heart of her work has always been the capture of beauty into art, and she has sought inspiration from nature around the world. Gallery Nuovo's exhibition features pastel paintings from the 1980s, artistic paperwork from the 1990s and the latest colorful jungle paintings from the 21st century. “Each work describes my current state of mind”. The pastels bring out the nuances of color and the images from the ground layers of the human mind. Handmade paper has tended to skillfully depict the underwater world in three dimensions. The latest jungle paintings are like dream trips to a dark but at the same time colorful and mysterious jungle with cats.
