LANDSTATES - solo exhibition
A journey with analogue film in the most iconic lands of the United States, from coast to coast. Visions of landscapes and architectures, uncontaminated nature and lit up cities, through America and its famous icons, from New York to Los Angeles, from Las Vegas to San Diego. American icons are presented through a contemplative and absorbed look. The America of movies and celebrities, from Antonioni’s Zabriskie Point to Woody Allen’s Manhattan, from Route 66 of Beat Generation poets, to the Monument Valley of the western movies, trying to go beyond the visible, to tell a feeling through space and its representation. The large format camera was necessary to slow down the visual process and to wait patiently for the right light to shoot, trying to capture moments of absolute visual richness. The human presence is almost always absent or secondary, because it is represented by his tracks and by his works. Cities portrayed as landscapes, and landscapes portrayed as people.
