hylé

hylé

Derived from ancient Greek, the term "hylé" indicates the matter of which a thing is made. A matter not immutable and identical to itself, but on the contrary made up of moving assemblies of elements that are a priori heterogeneous. It is at least the experience to which Cécile Beau invites us, that of a reality as a continuum, where the plant, the mineral and the animal are no longer autonomous kingdoms, separated from each other, but are on the contrary intertwined in meshes of interconnections and reciprocal influences. The artist thus invites us to enter the 22.48 m² gallery as in a plant cave as if we were entering a chimerical world yet very real.
