There are times when the literalness of a title is capable of offering a discursive intensity that, perhaps, another type of statement - say, more sophisticated - could not achieve. In other words, sometimes, description and objectivity allow a much higher level of expectation and reflection than the conceptual claim in the use of language. Doubles, the exhibition-dialogue between Aggtelek and Llobet i Pons for Espai Tactel Toormix would be one of these cases.
At first, "doubles" refers us to those sports of individual entity - tennis, table tennis ... - that maintain a modality in pairs. In that situation, two people play, or rather compete, with two other people. It is therefore a staging of four athletes who, in fact, maintains a great similarity with what now occurs in the Tactel exhibition space. In the room, we are facing a game that involves two couples of artists who decided to work together, and thus have a nominal presence that claimed the duo above the individual: Aggtelek (Xandro Vallès and Gema Perales) and Llobet i Pons (Jasmina Llobet and Lluis Fernández Pons).
