Geneviève Asse's work requires us to pause, to slowly enter in the footsteps of the artist who, instead of visual chatter, prefers silence, the one we taste at Chardin. Nourished by the research of her elders, Braque, Morandi, Bram van Velde, alongside her contemporaries, Nicolas de Staël, Viera da Silva and a few others, Geneviève walks alone.
By the use of a single color: blue, synonymous with infinity and fullness. This color became obvious to her. It is through her that in her painting the artist approaches the theme of openness, allowing light to infiltrate and allowing the viewer's glance to pass through the canvas.
