Biomorfismo

Biomorfismo

Biomorphism was a transversal current that influenced most artistic movements and trends between 1920 and 1950. It was very present in the work of the most diverse and apparently opposite artists such as Arp, Moholy Nagy, Picasso, Man Ray, Baumeister, Léger , Brauner, Picabia or Domínguez. In Spain, the neurological drawings of Lorca, the putrefacts of Dalí, the organic world of Planells, the anthropomorphic forms of Palencia and Lekuona, the fossils and skeletons of Maruja Mallo and Alberto, the essential forms and the stones of Ferrant, the woods found by Manuel Ángeles Ortiz, the zoomorphies of the Goeritz de Altamira, the phantasmagorias of the surrealist Saura… they are pure biomorphism. The gallery presents a selection of more than fifty works by international artists, linked to this interesting trend.
