Description

THE BIG STORE (2008) is an animation that depicts what happened the minutes before the murder of the Swedish Foreign minister Anna Lindh in 2003. The department store is filled with people shopping, exposed as filmed by an x-ray camera. A new Sweden is visualized in an empty store, when the merchandise and goods are gone our actions appears more distinct. As the saying goes 'Society is the sum of our individual behaviour'. Director's comments: "To make a film about what happened before the murder of Anna Lindh has been difficult but challenging. We decided not to focus or speculate on the knife attack but what surrounds it." (Arrhenius)
