Description

All these paintings, extraordinarily painted in black and white and using some dragging pictorial effects that highlight the harshness of the dying light, are contemporary landscapes in which the truthfulness of the representation is not as important as its capacity as a sign to glimpse the future of the times. In them we can see different images of the horror that have been left in the archives: the defiant portraits of the soldiers of the Nazi army, Joan of Arc shaved by the executioner, the Helter Skelter written by Charles Manson with the blood of his victims, the circles of Hell of Sandro Botticelli, the chemical threat that stalked the children of the post-war period, the vestiges of Chernobyl, disturbing carnival figures... An iconography of horror, beautifully represented, that exhibits the grotesque image of the masquerade of our time.
