Generic line in the works of this exhibition is that Thomas van Linge intertwines the heterotopia of the club scene and gallery world with each other using his ‘trash esthetics’ as a vehicle. Give up the ghost refers to both a transition in time and captures the momentum. The nostalgic footage of the early raves culture of the 1980s/1990s with a hypermodern contemporary high commerce way to spread media, an ambiguous mix with a ghost like appearance.
