Sherna Teperson’s practice draws together the poetic and the political. As a conceptual artist, her work is characterized by transforming both traditional and unconventional materials into sculptures, installations, photographs, and paintings that impact on our sensory perception. Her work reflects a consciousness towards this Age of the Anthropocene, as she explores the effects of climate change and human-induced noise pollution —and the intractability of the human subject. Teperson’s work references both the Brazilian Neo-Concrete Movement and Conceptual Art.
