Artist biography

Nicolás Franco studied at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Chile, at the Complutense University of Madrid and at De Ateliers, Amsterdam. His work has been exhibited in Europe, North and South America, important individual exhibitions in museums include: Museum of Visual Arts, Santiago; Museum of Contemporary Art, Santiago; National Museum of Fine Arts, Santiago; Museo del Barro, Asunción and Museo Blanes, Montevideo. Collectively, its participation in: Ni Peña Ni Miedo, MEIAC Extremadura Iberoamerican Museum of Contemporary Art, Badajoz (2011); Triennial of Chile, MAC Museum of Contemporary Art, Santiago (2009); I Assasin, Wallspace Gallery, New York (2004) and Early Works, de-Ateliers, Amsterdam (2002). During his career he has received various recognitions such as: EFG Bank & ArtNexus Fair Ch.ACO Award selection (Santiago 2013); AMA-Gasworks Grant, AMA Foundation (Santiago - London 2013); The Pollock Krasner Foundation Scholarship (NY, 2010); Union Latine culture et Comunicación (Paris, 2008); Fondart and Dirac (CL, 2008, 2007, 2006); Stroom Den Haag (The Hague, 2001); The Pollock-Krasner Foundation Scholarship (NY, 2001); De- Ateliers, Ministry of Culture and Sciences of the Netherlands (NL, 1998-2000).
