Always pushing the spatial bounds of his compositions, Swedish artist Michael Johanssen enjoys giving the viewers of his work a space to investigate.
Working in both photography and installation art, Johansson works to amplify the spatial depth of his creations to experiment with what is possible and impossible for the eye. Adding an air of whimsy or fantasy into these complex creations, Johansson dazzles the viewer with his dynamic vision.
Born in 1975, Johansson has spent the majority of his career refining his style into the acclaimed work he creates today. He has enjoyed the exhibition of his work at noteworthy locales around Europe. Recent solo exhibitions include “Michael Johanssen – Still Lifes” at The Flat – Massimo Cerasi in Milan (2012) and “Never Odd or Even,” at the Galleri Andersson/Sandstrom in Stockholm, Sweden.
