American artist Margeaux Walter pushes the bounds of photography and collage to create a captivating suite of images that tell fantastical tales.
Her works range from those that seemingly merge various realities to those that exude simple yet striking scapes of the greater world around us. From the mundane to the exceptional; from the momentary to the chronicle of the passing of time, Walter elevates her images to a state of pure reflection.
Born in Seattle, Washington, Walter earned her BFA from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University in 2006 and then subsequently completed her MFA at Hunter College in 2014. She has been lauded for her work with numerous awards over the past twenty years, including the Red Gate Residency in Beijing (2011); the Moscow International Photography Award Honorable Mention (2016); and a CSG Fellowship with the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (2019). She has also enjoyed the solo exhibition of his works, including “Sign Language” at Winston Wächter Fine Art (New York, 2017) and “Domestic Fiction” at Foto Relevance (Houston, 2018).
