Norwegian artist Magnus Vatvedt carries the concept of the readymade into a new generation through his wildly experimental creations. Taking materials, such as sand, directly from nature to develop his works, Vatvedt turns the notion of the readymade on its head as he deviates from the dimension of the mass-produced or factory-made.
Born in Norway in 1981, Vatvedt earned his degree from the Oslo National Academy of Arts and the Academy of Fine Arts in Trondheim. He has enjoyed the showcase of his work in a variety of locales. Recent exhibitions include those at the Malmö Konsthall (2013); Sydhavn Station, Copenhagen (2015); and QB Gallery (2016).
