Polish artist Franciszek Orłowski conjured pragmatic,site-specific installations that often draw on the themes or ideas of the contemporary cultural and political landscape.
Hoping to push the personal boundaries of the viewers of his work, Orłowski breaks social norms and creates spaces that might make some uncomfortable. His goal in doing so is to encourage personal introspection and growth through unconventional connections with his art.
Born in Poznań, Poland, in 1984, Orłowski studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan between 2004 and 2010 and has also begun work toward a PhD there as well. His work has been featured in numerous exhibitions around the globe, including the Odessa Biennale of Contemporary Art at the Museum of Odessa Modern Art (2015); Hati Hati Hat at Ksiegarnia/Wystawa Kraków (2016); and AIT Takanava Unlimited in Tokyo (2017).
